IMAGE CAPTION: This image was made one fine morning when I went to the local bus terminus to drop my uncle. I saw some people standing to a side of the road and looking upward. I was surprised to see a man hanging from a tree. I dropped my uncle at the entry point in a hurry and rushed back home to fetch my camera. I wanted to make this image before someone or police takes him away. I succeeded in making this image.
Well, this image has been accepted in some exhibitions, but I was told by a more experienced photographer that such images generally do not get acceptances in exhibitions because these spoil taste. I did not trust that fellow and it has been accepted in exhibitions. However, I do agree that some newspapers do not print such images on front page because that may spoil morning tea of its readers.

Technical Detail: I made this image with Nikon N55 film camera using Nikkor 35-80 mm lens several years ago, but now I have scanned an old print. The film was Kodak 100 ASA.

John Larson You were fortunate to get this image, before the person was removed. It definitely tells a story that many of us do not want to hear. The lighting is quite difficult (can't really see rope) but I don't think you could do much about it.  Score 7-8.
Billy Burke Human interest is not always to pretty or pleasant. But also never is real life. I worked on a small paper and would have taken the picture but I know that my editor would never have printed it. For once I do not want to see it enlarged and shown more detail. 7
Alex Lane It is an interesting PJ image but one than many people do not like to look at. Although we all know it happens not many of us are interested in morbid' scenes like this. Alex (7)

Subhash Sapru- Biography

I took to photography at an early age with a box camera, followed by a range finder then upgraded to a SLR conventional film camera and now using a digital SLR camera. My interest in photography became a passion only when in 1997 I started entering my images in international exhibitions and was introduced to IIPC the same year and PSA in 1998. Thanks to my brother Mr Brij M. Sapru for nursing my interest in photography all these years. Having done post-graduate diploma in Journalism and starting my career as a freelancer for some newspapers and magazines before joining the present organization of Public Relations in India, over the years my interest has grown in capturing the element of human interest. Photography is not a part of my profession, I enjoy it as a rewarding hobby. My other interest is travel and it helps me in pursuing the hobby of photography. I am a contributor to PSA journal and one of the two IRs of PSA in India. I have joined the study group to learn more about photojournalism..
